Privacy Policy

This page is maintained by Dave for Trades to explain what data the Dave for Trades application collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It is not a certification or legal advice.

Who we are

Dave for Trades is a field-operations app for trade and construction businesses. It helps teams track time, manage jobs, send quotes and invoices, and run day-to-day office tasks. This policy applies to the Dave for Trades website and app at davefortrades.ai.

Information we collect

  • Account information — your name, email address, company details, and role, provided when you or your company set up an account.
  • Business data you enter — jobs, time entries, contacts, quotes, invoices, reports, and similar records you create in the app.
  • Connected account data — when you choose to connect a Google or Microsoft account, we access only the data needed to provide the features you turn on (see below).
  • Technical data — basic log and device information used to operate, secure, and improve the service.

Google and Microsoft account access

If you connect a Google or Microsoft account, Dave for Trades requests access to send email on your behalf, create and manage calendar events, and save files you generate in the app (such as quotes, invoices, and reports) to your drive. We request the narrowest scopes needed for these features.

Dave for Trades's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google or Microsoft account data for advertising, and we do not sell it.

You can disconnect a connected account at any time from the Integrations screen, which revokes Dave for Trades's stored access tokens.

Call recording

Businesses using Dave for Trades can make and receive calls through a Dave for Trades phone number. When recording is switched on, every caller hears a notice that the call may be recorded before it connects. Recordings are stored privately, transcribed and summarised so the business can act on what was said, and deleted from our phone provider straight away. Audio is deleted automatically after the business's retention period (90 days by default); the written transcript and summary are kept with the business's records. Only the business's owners and admins can play recordings. Each business is the controller of its call recordings; contact the business you spoke to to access or delete a recording.

Meeting notes

Businesses can ask Dave for Trades to join online meetings (Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Webex) as a notetaker. The notetaker joins under a name that makes clear it is Dave for Trades and posts a message in the meeting chat saying the meeting is being recorded and transcribed; anyone can ask the host to remove it. Meetings marked private are never joined. Our meeting provider, Recall.ai, processes the meeting in the EU; we keep audio only (no video) in private storage and delete the media from Recall.ai once it has been copied. The audio is transcribed and summarised so the business can act on what was agreed, and deleted automatically after the business's retention period (90 days by default); the written notes are kept with the business's records. Only owners and admins can play meeting audio. The business is the controller of its meeting notes; contact them to access or delete your data.
